The Bach Flower remedy system is composed of 37 plant remedies and one remedy made from the water of a specific spring in Wales. Remedies address personality types or temporary mood states.
As in homeopathic remedies, the Bach Flower Remedies are free of substance and instead carry the plant's vibration. Each remedy vibration correlates to the vibration of a specific personality or mood state.
Diagnosis can be done in two main ways:
1. Verbal Intake
The verbal intake is a specific type of interview in which the practitioner identifies personality characteristics and mood states. Interesting to note that more important then the physical symptoms are patients' attitudes towards life and towards their disease, typical belief systems, emotional and behavioral patterns and individual ways of responding to life situations.
In this context, the disease is the background but more important is the person having the disease and their typical and individual way of dealing with what ever challenges they are dealing with. The personality aspects and typical coping mechanisms correlate to physio-pathological responses seen in the physical symptoms.
"The very part of the body affected is no accident, but is in accordance with the law of cause ad effect, and again will be a guide to help us" Dr Bach- Heal Thyself
Intuitively choosing remedies as well as choosing based on pendulums can be accurate due to the principle of energy resonance and dissonance meaning that a person will always be attracted to the vibration that he needs.
Personality type verses mood state treatment:
The Bach Flower Remedy method distinguishes between treatments that are focused on deep seated, long-standing personality characteristics verses the treatment of immediate crisis or temporary mood states.
When treating the personality type, treatment tends to be longer and facilitates modifications in belief systems as well as in emotional and behavioral patterns. Many fundamental issues are addressed and the change is apparent in many life realms.
When treating immediate crisis or temporary mood states, treatment is of shorter duration and change is apparent much quicker.
The Bach Flower Remedies come in a fluid form and are taken orally.
How The Remedies Work
1.Dr. Bach's Interpretation
" The action of these remedies is to raise our vibrations and open up our channels for the reception of the spiritual Self; to flood our natures with the particular virtue we need, and wash out from us the fault that is causing the harm. They are able like beautiful music or any glorious uplifting thing which gives us inspiration, to raise our very natures, and bring us nearer to our souls and by that very act to bring us peace and relieve our suffering. They cure not by attacking the disease but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibration of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which, disease melts away as snow in the sunshine. There is no true healing unless there is a change in outlook, peace of mind an dinner happiness". Dr. Bach 1934.
2. Psycho-Dynamic Interpretation
The remedies raise the inner conflict from the unconscious to the conscious mind which allows the soul to break-through the limitations of the mind and realize its true potential.
